Chattanooga Lookouts (40-36) 10, Carolina Mudcats (41-35) 1
Chattanooga, TN --- Danny Dorn hit a three-run homer in the first inning to spark a 10-1 Chattanooga victory over the Carolina Mudcats at AT&T Field on Sunday afternoon.
Dorn's blast against starter Brett Sinkbeil (L, 3-7) highlighted a four-run first, but the Lookouts (3-3) extended the advantage with another run in the second and a pair of runs in the fifth for a 7-0 lead. Chattanooga starter Sam LeCure (W, 6-4) worked six shutout innings on two hits to secure the victory.
Trailing 10-0 in the ninth, Alberto Concepcion singled home pinch-hitter Cameron Maybin with Carolina's (3-3) lone run.
Concepcion had two of Carolina's five hits. The Lookouts claimed the season-series 10-6 over the Mudcats
The Mudcats split their second-half opening six-game series after winning the first three games by a 17-2 margin.
Carolina returns home to face the Huntsville Stars on Tuesday night at 7:15 PM ET. Josh Johnson is expected to make the start for the Mudcats on a major league rehab assignment at Five County.
