Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have reassigned infielder Jason Hill to Carolina while returning infielder Michael Tucker to Jupiter, effective Friday, May 6th.
Hill, who was promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque on April 28th, appeared in two games with the Isotopes, going 1-3 with one RBI. Tucker came to Carolina on April 30th and went 2-7 in two games with the Mudcats.
Each move was a product of the wrist injury to former Carolina first baseman Jason Stokes, who was placed on the disabled list in late April, and his recent activation from the DL.
The Mudcats roster stands at 23 players, the newly enacted Southern League limit. Carolina opens a seven-game homestand Friday night with a first-place battle between the Mudcats of the North and Montgomery Biscuits from the Southern Division. The opening game of the three-game series is at 7:15 PM ET.
