Montgomery, AL --- Jon Switzer and Chad Orvella combined on a three-hitter as Montgomery split its four-game series with the Carolina Mudcats with a 3-1 victory on Sunday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium.

Switzer (W, 3-1) pitched seven innings permitting just an unearned run in the fourth inning.  The Biscuits (13-11) took a 1-0 lead against Nic Ungs (L, 1-2) in the first on a sacrifice fly by Rico Washington.  Elijah Dukes blasted an opposite-field homer in the third for a 3-0 lead.

Orvella (S, 3), a former shortstop at NC State, pitched two perfect innings to record his third save of the season.
