Scott Olsen is Optioned to the Mudcats

Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have announced that LHP Scott Olsen has been optioned to the Carolina Mudcats effective Saturday, July 23rd.

Olsen went 1-1 with a 3.98 ERA in five games for the Marlins, four of which were starts.  He made his major league debut in a winning effort on June 25th at Tampa Bay, working 5 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run.

The addition of Olsen puts the Mudcats at the Southern League limit of 23 players.
