Resop Rejoins Mudcats
Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have announced the reassigning of RHP Chris Resop to the Carolina Mudcats, effective with today's series opener against the Chattanooga Lookouts.
Resop was recalled to the major leagues in late June, making his major league debut against the Atlanta Braves on June 28th. Overall, Resop appeared in seven games out of the Marlins bullpen, assembling a 0-0 record with an 8.31 ERA. Resop last pitched Sunday in Philadelphia, throwing a scoreless inning.
The addition of Resop pushes the Mudcats roster to 23 players, the Southern League limit. Resop has saved 18 of 19 chances for the Mudcats in 2005, second in the league.
First place Carolina opens a four-game set against the Lookouts tonight at 7:15 PM ET. Nic Ungs (4-4, 3.71) starts for the Mudcats. |
