L 6-2 11 innings
Zebulon, NC --- Aaron Sisk's two-run single in the 11th inning keyed a five-run frame as West Tenn won the opener of a three-game series against Carolina on Monday night.
Sisk's hit occurred with the bases loaded and one out against Ross Wolf (L, 5-4). The Diamond Jaxx (26-17, 70-42) scored three more times for a 6-1 lead.
West Tenn, trailing 1-0 in the seventh, tied the game against Mudcats starter Josh Johnson when Buck Coats scored from third on a groundout by Sisk. That run was the only one permitted during Johnson's strong outing. Johnson pitched seven innings, yielding four hits and one run.
Carolina (26-15, 67-42) went ahead 1-0 in the third on a single by Frank Moore with two outs which scored Drew Niles. Carlos Marmol worked the front six innings for the Diamond Jaxx, allowing just three hits.
