Game Suspended
Jacksonville, FL --- The third game of Carolina's four-game series with the Jacksonville Suns has been suspended by rain in the bottom of the fourth inning on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mudcats and Suns will resume this nine-inning game Thursday night at 5:05 PM ET, and play the regularly scheduled game, now a seven-inning affair, beginning no earlier than 7:05 PM ET. Carolina holds a 3-2 lead in the fourth inning.
After Thursday's games with the Suns, the first-place Mudcats are scheduled to head to Pearl, MS for a four-game series with the Mississippi Braves. The aftermath Hurricane Katrina has the series action undetermined, however. An official announcement whether or not the series will be played will be made either Wednesday or sometime on Thursday.
The Mudcats, who lead the Northern Division by one game over West Tenn, will open the Northern Division playoffs in Jackson, TN on Wednesday, September 7 for games one and two through Thursday. The remaining schedule of the best-of-five semifinal series will be announced when dates, times and locations have been determined. |
