Chattanooga, TN --- Carolina starter Josh Johnson pitched seven scoreless innings and scored the game's first run to lead the Mudcats to a 5-0 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts at Bell South Park on Wednesday night.

 

Johnson (W, 11-4), who became the league's fourth 11-game winner, permitted five hits over his outing, remaining unbeaten against the Lookouts over seven starts, including four wins in 2005.  Johnson walked to start the third inning, then scored on a double by JC Muniz as Carolina went ahead 1-0.  Jason Hill singled home Muniz for a 2-0 spread.  Muniz's double stretched his career longest hitting streak to 10 games.

 

Johnson, who won 11 combined games over his first three years, earned his 11th of the season, staying unbeaten over his last 10. 

 

Reggie Abercrombie homered for the second night in a row, taking out reliever Travis Phelps inside the right-field foul pole in the ninth.  Hill drove in two runs, going 2-3.  Robert Andino had a pair of doubles against Lookouts reliever Arian Cruz.

 

Jeff Bruksch (L, 3-8) remained winless during the second half, permitting two runs over five innings.

 

Carolina, which leads the season series 26-10, plays the Lookouts for the final time this season on Thursday night with Nic Ungs (7-5, 3.72) starting against Josh Hall (4-5, 3.44).
