Zebulon, NC --- JC Muniz singled home Frank Moore with two outs in the 12th inning as Carolina defeated Chattanooga 3-2 before 5,674 fans at Five County Stadium on Sunday night.

The game, which was played in three hours and 44 minutes, represented the 33rd of 37 matchups between the Mudcats (32-22, 73-49) and Lookouts (21-34, 48-76).  Carolina has won 24 with the final four meetings Monday through Thursday at Bell South Park.

The Carolina 12th inning started to take shape with a one-out double to right-center by Moore.  After a strikeout, Jeremy Hermida was intentionally walked ahead of another walk to Jason Hill.  Muniz hit Jason Andrew's (L, 3-4) 0-1 pitch past Gary Patchett at third base for the game-winner.

Carolina leads the Northern Division by 1 1/2 games over West Tenn with 18 remaining in the second half.

Luke Lockwood allowed two runs over his six innings, scoring on a pair of Rick Bell sacrifice flies.  Lockwood left the game trailing 2-1 after Hill scampered home from third base on a wild pitch from reliever Bubba Nelson.  The Mudcats knotted the score at 2 when Robert Andino hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Rex Rundgren in the seventh.

Mike McNutt, Jerrod Fuell, Clint Sodowsky and Kevin Cave (W, 5-1) combined to throw six scoreless innings from the Carolina bullpen.

Chris Bass had three singles of the nine Mudcats hits.

Adam Bostick (4-1, 2.54) starts for the Mudcats in Chattanooga on Monday night at 7:15 PM ET against Bobby Basham (3-3, 3.38).
