L 12-1

Sevierville, TN --- Chris Carter hit a grand slam to cap an eight-run fourth inning as Tennessee crushed Carolina to split a four-game series at Smokies Park on Sunday, prevailing 12-1.

Nic Ungs (L, 6-5) allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, but watched from the dugout as reliever Ross Wolf permitted Carter's blast to right field.  The slam culminated an 11-batter inning as Tennessee won the final regular season meeting of 2005 between the teams.

Carolina's lone run came home on a double in the fifth on a double by Robert Andino.  Andino had two of the Mudcats' six hits.

The Mudcats won the season series 13-7, and head to Birmingham for four games in three days, starting with a Monday doubleheader against the Southern-leading Barons.  Luke Lockwood (2-5) starts the opener with newly added Andy Torres likely pitching game two for the Mudcats.  The first pitch is slated for 6:00 PM ET from Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
