W 4-2

Sevierville, TN --- Jeremy Hermida hit a tie-breaking homer in the third inning as Carolina defeated Tennessee 4-2 on Saturday night at Smokies Park.

The game started 94 minutes late, delayed by early evening rainstorms.

Josh Johnson (W, 10-4) earned his 10th victory, pitching five innings, scattering seven hits and striking out two hitters.

Hermida's blast to right came on the first pitch from Tony Pena (L, 7-10) after Robert Andino reached on the second of his two infield hits.  Michael Tucker drove home Reggie Abercrombie for the second time in two innings as Carolina took a 4-1 lead following three innings.

Abercrombie went 3-4 with a double, triple and a single to pace the Mudcats' 12-hit attack.

Chris Resop (S, 22) logged the save with a perfect ninth inning.  Matt Yourkin, Mike McNutt and Clint Sodowsky combined to pitch three innings to move the lead to Resop.

Tennessee scored a run in the bottom of the first before Tucker's first hit tied the game in the second.
