Montgomery, AL --- Scott Olsen earned his third straight win pitching seven innings to lead the Carolina Mudcats to a 5-4 win Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
Olsen (W, 3-0) surrendered only a solo homer by Chairon Isenia in the fourth inning over his longest stint of the season. Olsen fanned seven without issuing a walk. The victory pushed Carolina's lead in the Northern Division to 2 1/2 games coupled with West Tenn's loss on Saturday night.
Carolina (18-4) which won for the 12th time in 13 games, scored all five of its runs with two outs. James Shanks doubled home two in the first inning, while Dennis Anderson stroked two, two-out singles in the fourth and sixth. Todd Sears capped the scoring with a two-out base hit in the seventh.
Leading 5-1 in the eighth, Jerrod Fuell yielded his first three runs of the season, highlighted by a two-run triple by Elijah Dukes.
Mike Flannery (S, 2) registered his second save of the season by pitching a perfect ninth inning.
The Biscuits (12-11), who lost for the sixth time in seven games, played without Delmon Young, who started serving a three-game suspension for bumping home plate umpire Jeff Latter in the ninth inning of Friday's game.
Nic Ungs (1-1, 3.38) starts the series finale Sunday at 3:05 PM ET against Jon Switzer (2-1, 3.66).
