Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have placed Carolina Mudcats lefthander Chad Bentz on the seven day disabled list with a left forearm strain, retroactive to April 23.  No roster addition has been made. 

 

Bentz was 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA in four games prior to the injury.

 

Carolina opens a 10-game road trip tonight in Jacksonville, FL against the Suns, the first-ever meeting of the two squads as non-divisional rivals dating to the Mudcats inception into the Southern League in 1991.
