Chattanooga, TN - William Bergolla homered and drove in three runs as the Chattanooga Lookouts dropped the Carolina Mudcats to their fifth straight loss, 5-2 at Bell South Park on Saturday night.
Bergolla took a 1-1 pitch from Jeff Fulchino (L, 3-4, 5ip, 9h, 4r, 4er, 1w, 2k) over the left field wall for his fourth of the season. Three of Bergolla's homers have been hit against the Mudcats (10-18).
Chattanooga (19-8) moved ahead 4-0 in the third on a pair of two-out singles by Tony Blanco and Jeff Bannon.
Fulchino, coming off of an eight-inning shutout outing last Monday, worked five frames, allowing four runs on nine hits.
Carolina scored single runs in the sixth and seventh with sacrifice flies by Dennis Anderson (1-3, rbi, sf) and Jeff Inglin (2-3, r, rbi, sf).
Brian Strelitz (ND, 1ip, 2h, 1r, 1er, 1w, 0k) allowed a run in the sixth, with Mike Flannery (ND, 2ip, 1h, 0r, 0w, 1k) pitched two scoreless innings.
Steve Kelly (W, 8-5) allowed two runs over seven innings to record his second win over Carolina in four starts. Kelly pitched around a three-error first inning by his defense.
Bill Murphy (6-4, 3.97) starts against Bubba Nelson (1-1, 2.65) Sunday at 2:15 PM ET.

Notes: RHP Ruddy Lugo was used as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning, flying out near to the left field warning track. Carolina was playing without Billy Hall and Jimmy Goelz. Hall is out for the next few days. Goelz reaggravated his hamstring injury in the third inning on Friday night.
