Zebulon, NC - For the second time in three days, the Carolina Mudcats played their second-ever longest nine-inning game, dropping an Independence Day 14-11 decision to the Jacksonville Suns.
Before the fourth largest crowd in Five County Stadium history, 8,533, the Mudcats (4-8) and Suns (4-8) played a three-hour, 57-minute game. Both teams had a seven-run inning, with Carolina advancing to an 7-2 lead in the third, while the Suns shot ahead 9-8 in the sixth.
