Zebulon, NC - Josh Willingham and Jason Stokes each cleared solo home runs leading Nic Ungs to a staff-leading 10th win as Carolina defeated Chattanooga 5-2 at Five County Stadium on Tuesday night.
Trailing 2-0, Willingham (HR, 21, 2-3, r, 2b, 2rbi, w, k) homered in the fourth and Stokes (HR, 23, 1-3, r, 2rbi, sf, k) went very deep in the sixth to tie the game.
A bases loaded walk to Willingham in the seventh broke a 2-2 tie, with Stokes following with a warning-track sacrifice fly to center. James Shanks (3-4, 2b, rbi, cs) dropped a single to right for the third run of Carolina's seventh inning.
Ungs (W, 10-8, 7ip, 7h, 2r, 2er, 2w, 4k) earned his fifth win in six starts, allowing a run in the Lookouts' third and a solo homer to Tony Blanco in the fourth. Ungs has allowed a league-high 24 homers, however 15 have been solo shots.

Notes: Correcting a previous release, injured Mudcats infielder Billy Hall went on the disabled list with a contusion, and not a concussion as was reported Monday... Stokes' 23rd homer matched the single-season club record originally set in 1994 by Mark Johnson. Stokes accomplished his homers in seven fewer games... Carolina finished the season series 11-16 against the Lookouts... Chattanooga, despite losing, saw its magic number to clinching the East dwindle to four thanks to a Greenville loss at Tennessee.
