Jackson, TN - Geovany Soto had the first two-homer game of his career, driving in four runs as West Tenn defeated Carolina 7-2 at Pringles Park on Sunday night.

Soto drilled a pair of two-run homers against Mike McNutt (L, 2-1, 2.2ip, 7h, 6r, 6er, 2w, 2k) in the second and third innings. McNutt was making his first appearance since July 17th, after spending nearly four weeks on the disabled list recovering from appendecitis.

McNutt threw 51 pitches before being relieved by Ryan Baker (ND, 3.1ip, 2h, 1r, 1er, 2w, 4k) in the third.

Trailing 6-0 in the fourth, Carolina (22-26) scored twice against Ricky Nolasco (W, 4-3). Jason Stokes (2-4, r, rbi, k) and Ryan Minor (1-4, rbi, k) singled home runs as the Mudcats sliced the deficit to 6-2.

Carolina brought the tying run to the plate in the fifth, however Josh Willingham (0-2, 2w, 1k) fanned with the bases loaded.
