Zebulon, NC - The Carolina Mudcats are pleased to announce a partnership with the Wake County Solid Waste Management Division to begin a stadium-wide recycling program at Five County Stadium, effective immediately.
Internal recycling begins with 1) the Mudcats Administration around the ballpark, 2) in all concession stands, 3) the restaurant (opening this summer), 4) staff offices 5) and clubhouses. The new water tower that stands over Five County Stadium holds gray water; therefore, all of the water used on the field and surrounding landscaping is recycled water.
Effective Opening Night, April 16, 2004, the Consumer Awareness Recycling Education (CARE) program will begin with the fans' involvement. A kiosk will be set up behind homeplate where fans may recycle items during the game and pick up more information on recycling. Recycling bins will be set up at all of the stadium entrances, throughout the concourse, in the luxury suites and on the picnic areas making it convenient for all fans to contribute to the program.
The following items are among the items that will be recycled at Five County Stadium: cardboard, plastic bottles, glass, tin, aluminum cans, and newspaper,. Fans visiting Five County Stadium this summer will have the opportunity to recycle products they consume while inside the confines.
